Dr. George Bozoki is our lead consultant in the area of software engineering metrics and models pertaining to size, effort, schedule, quality and productivity.  His consulting experience spans three decades with aerospace companies, NASA and U.S. Department of Defense. Support for proposal activities for commercial and government programs in the area of software sizing and costing is one of our strengths.

Computer-Human Interface (CHI)

Dr. Bob Remington, our lead CHI consultant has extensive practical experience with large computer companies, aerospace companies, and high-tech startups in both the U.S. and the United Kingdom.  The team led by Dr. Remington is professionally qualified and used to working within tight timescales and budgets, and has considerable experience of working with users and suppliers. A selected list of clients include IBM, Microsoft, Southwestern Bell Corporation, SAIC, Office Technology Limited, Sensory Inc., Computer Technology Limited,  Butler Cox Foundation, British Rail, British Telecom, Pilkingtons, U.S. Department of Defense, U.K. Ministry of Defense, U.K. Ministry of Industry, The Alvey Commission, InterTrust Inc., and Cyberbills Inc.
 

In carrying out our CHI consultancy assignments, we:

  • Analyze users and their tasks so that system specifications are develop which match business and user needs;
  • Design user interfaces, screen layouts, to make systems both useful and usable;
  • Develop in-house standards and guidelines to maintain enterprise design specifications;
  • Test products for usability to anticipate and avoid user problems, reduce training costs, support costs, and avoid expensive rework;
  • Build interface simulations and prototypes to explore options and evolve new solutions;
  • Develop documentation and other methods of user support to ensure effective operation;
  • Carry out job design and organizational development programs to prepare organizations for change
  • Plan office layout and help with system implementation to avoid unnecessary mismatched, and to ensure smooth transition to new ways of working;
  • Conduct audit of systems and user interfaces in order to identify strengths and weaknesses as an input to future design or redesign;
  • Provide ergonomics consultancy for users and suppliers to help them install and use computer systems safely, comfortably and productively;
  • Perform analysis of competitors products that allow marketing and sales staff to exploit product strengths;
  • Design demonstrations that show products in the best possible way in order to gain competitive advantage.
